June 30, 2023 - 70th Anniversary Jewel Theatre Gala

Attendees of the gala enjoyed a red carpet entrance into the theatre in their formal attire then had their photo taken in front of the 70th Anniversary sign, all the while pretending it was 1953 in the heydays of Hollywood! There was a welcome toast from Emcee Tana Nixon, County of Stettler Reeve Larry Clarke presented a Historian Award to Carson Ellis of Our Town Stettler, a brief speech from the Rairdan family on how to support the theatre going forward and then a video (above) of some memories from residents. After, a break with drinks and hors d'oeuvres we settled in tow watch the fun feature film Calamity Jane, the first movie ever shown at the Jewel Theatre on December 21, 1953. It was an amazing night made special by staff, volunteers and guests. Thank you to everyone who attended!
