Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is predicted to earn $250 million globally at the box office this opening weekend.
It's also expected to sell approx. $400 million in ticket sales by the end of its theatrical run. Considering the film cost around $250M to make, a $400M gross would be a pretty nice profit.
Even so, if these numbers are achieved, how would they compare to the first two movies in the Guardians trilogy?
Let's take a look at the statistics provided by the movie research site, The Numbers.
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1
Production Cost: $170M
Opening Weekend: $94M
Domestic Box Office: $334M
International Box Office: $771M
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Production Cost: $200M
Opening Weekend: $147M
Domestic Box Office: $390M
International Box Office: $869M
Fingers crossed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 to continue the remarkable box office success of its predecessors.
