It is so great to see the seniors in the theatre today for the first free Seniors Screening! Several commented on how happy they were to see the inside of the Jewel again and shared memories of what the old concession looked like. When I asked for any memories or stories about the Jewel one of them got a mischievous smile on her face and said "Oh my, you don't want to know". I remembered where she is sitting so I can catch her after the movie because I am DYING to know what provoked that wicked smile!
We had 20 seniors attend from Willow Creek, Paragon Place and Heart Haven plus a few extra. County of Stettler Housing Authority covers an Extra Small Popcorn for the seniors and HandiBus fee and our New Horizons for Seniors grant covers the movie and a small drink for each senior so they can enjoy the movie at no cost.
